Smile Train
Smile Train is the #1 organization that Cruise Plastic Surgery chooses to donate to. As the world’s largest cleft-focused organization, Smile Train supports training programs to help medical professionals in over 90 countries learn to treat patients with cleft lips and palates in their own communities. Rather than a medical mission model, which sends doctors from the United States and other wealthy countries to serve communities in need, Smile Train helps build up essential healthcare infrastructure locally. This includes cleft lip and palate surgery, speech therapy, psychological care, nutritional services, orthodontics, and other necessary forms of care.
St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital
St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is a leader in the treatment and research of childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases that affect children. This hospital is funded primarily by donations, allowing them to offer treatment, travel, housing, and food to children and their families at no cost. This is crucial in part because as a research hospital, much of the care provided by St. Jude is not covered by health insurance.
Hardship Application
Plastic surgery can be so much deeper than just changing your physical appearance. For patients with gynecomastia, surgery can represent a huge relief both physically and emotionally. Gynecomastia surgery is a significant investment, making the procedure inaccessible to some patients. For this reason, Dr. Cruise offers varying degrees of financial assistance through our hardship application. To submit an application, patients simply share the physical and emotional problems they face due to gynecomastia and a brief explanation of their financial situation. Dr. Cruise and our staff then review applications and determine the next steps to best assist as many patients as possible.
